The East Valley of Metro Phoenix, Arizona
The East Valley in Metro Phoenix is a multi-city region that is mainly South and East of Phoenix. Although this area is loosely defined, with differing definitions of what area it constitutes, when someone says the East Valley it mainly includes several towns and cities: Apache Junction, Chandler, Gilbert, Gold Canyon, Mesa, Queen Creek, San Tan Valley and Tempe.
This area is home to approximately 1.425 million people. The East Valley has multiple school districts and charter schools and is home to Arizona State University, several Community Colleges and the East Valley Institute of Technology. The East Valley is also home of the Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport, one of the nation’s most successful military base reuse projects and where more than 1.5 million passengers travel through its gates each year. The East Valley’s growth has been unprecedented in the last 20 years and shows no signs of slowing down.
